Twitter is a tool that is becoming more and more popular every single day. In the hands of someone who knows what they're doing Twitter can be a powerful and exciting tool. However, if you don't know how to use it correctly it can turn into a huge waste of time and yield you very few real results.
If you want to know how to use Twitter to grow your home based business you're reading the right article! I'm about to reveal the top mistakes people make when using Twitter and exactly how to avoid them.
The first mistake is pretty obvious and yet sometimes overlooked. If you want to be successful promoting your home based business with Twitter you have to have plenty of followers. It's always interesting to see people who claim to be the biggest and the best at something and yet they have absolutely no followers to back it up.
Let's face it if you're really as good as you claim to be… people will follow you. Even if you're just getting started on Twitter or in your first home based business you still need lots of followers. The illusion is simple… if you have lots of followers you must be good.
Getting massive amounts of followers is really much more simple than people make it out to be. Look, if you follow a ton of people chances are they'll follow you back too (at least about half of them). So get out there and start following anyone and everyone you can.
Of course you'll also want to make sure most of the people you're adding are people that have to do with your niche, not all but most.
Finding people in your niche is simple. Just find one big guy and follow who follows them… make sense? See, it really is amazingly simple.
Another huge mistake to avoid is doing nothing put promoting your business/ product. Twitter is a social network so be social. It's ok to promote what you're doing in moderation. Just don't constantly be spamming people about your company and people will continue to follow you.
Twitter is great for giving people a behind the scenes look at your life and your business. So talk about the things you do throughout the day. In general just be yourself and let people get to know the real you. That way they'll be much more inclined to trust you and want to buy from you or be in business with you.
The final major Twitter mistake to avoid is not being social! Twitter is a social network so talk to people, comment on their Tweets, and make sure you respond make to your direct messages. If you want people to care about you show them that you care about them first.
These are the top 3 major mistakes to avoid when using Twitter, but the biggest tip of all is to have fun with it! Don't be shy, start Tweeting your way to home based business success!

When you're a network marketer you're going to be taught all kinds of ways to market your business. Many of these techniques are great ways to grow your business and help you reach your goals. However, one technique that I just can't stand is the 3 foot rule and in this article I'll tell you why.
The 3 foot rule works like this… talk to anyone and everyone who comes within 3 feet of you about your home based business. That's right, under this rule you should be talking to people in line at the movies, the grocery store, the dry cleaners, the bank, at PTA meetings, amusement parks, and pretty much everywhere else under the sun.
Now besides the fact that you'd never actually get home if you followed this rule it just seems to me that this is one of the reasons people are so annoyed with network marketers.
Look, when I go to the grocery store I'm going for bread not business. Sure if someone happened to stop me and ask me about my business I'd be happy to talk to them but I have to say if the shoe was on the other foot and some stranger started talking to me in the cereal aisle about residual income I'd think they were absolutely crazy!
Trust me… nobody wants to be in business with a crazy person.
The key my friend is not to talk to everyone under the sun it's to talk to the right people. Targeted prospecting is always going to be a million times better than talking to random people in a supermarket or wearing a big flashy button that says "Ask me about my business!!!"
So where can you find targeted prospects? Online!
Online marketing is so powerful because it allows you to find tons of people who are actually interested in working from home. So you don't have to tap strangers on the shoulder and ask them "how do you like your job?"… seriously folks… it's creepy.
On the internet you can find forums and social groups all dedicated to people who want to find a work at home opportunity. I'll take talking to 5 super interested people over 100 completely un-interested people every single time.
So stop using the outdated 3 foot rule and other outdated offline methods and get online today. Your prospects are waiting!
